New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners licenses physicians in New Jersey, for both MD and DO applicants. For a New Jersey hire, the initial application fee is $325, licenses renew on a biennial; odd-numbered years cycle and renewal carries a CME requirement (100 hours per biennium: at least 40 Category I; up to 60 Category II. Additional 6-hour cultural competency training for applicable licensees; 2-hour sexual misconduct prevention requirement due before 2027 renewal). New Jersey's compact status is participating non-SPL.
